Vacancy Hardware Engineer – Middenmeer


This organisation has been innovating in the market for industrial multi-spectral cameras for many years and is currently looking for a Hardware Engineer. In addition to its unique camera technologies, this organisation is also known for its specialised and highly qualified software solutions that can often reveal important exceptional, previously invisible information. These advanced camera systems are used worldwide for medical applications to provide real-time visualisation in operating rooms so that surgeons have enough information when making critical decisions.


As Hardware Engineer, a challenging and varied job, you are responsible for the design and development of new and existing camera electronics in cooperation with experienced colleagues, but you are also able to pull off a solo project. A Hardware Engineer within this Medical Device organisation can also act as a coach for a Junior. That’s great, right?

Because this organisation develops complex equipment, product knowledge will certainly have to give you satisfaction. You will also be engaged in the following tasks:

  • Understanding of and working in the hardware process of developing a high-tech camera in view of medical standards (ISO 13485 / ISO 9001)
  • PCB design & process improvement
  • Embedded software design
  • Prototype development and testing
  • Debug cross-functional problems
  • Creating concepts for new products and patents
  • Develop and test new ideas for customers
  • Documentation of plan for internal and external purpose
  • Problem Solution for unfinished products and customer problems
  • Translate customer problem into technical problem
  • Communicate technical problem to staff
  • Customer support, talk with customers when they have a problem with the product
  • FPGA programming
  • Direct reporting to Engineering Manager


For this role, we are looking for a candidate with:

  • Bachelor of Electronics, Computer science or likewise
  • Experience with C, C++, VHDL, PCB design process
  • Knowledge of FPGA programming
  • Communication skills in English and Dutch (optional)
  • Experience as Hardware Engineer at least 3 years
